Superstar Rajinikanth said that he would contest the next Assembly election. He said that when the elections to the State Assembly constituencies are near, he would decide about launching of the party. He was aware that his fans were eagerly awaiting the launch of his party and have expressed their support on social media and decided not to disappoint them.
He is currently shooting for the film ‘Durbar’ which is being directed by A.R. Murugadoss. The film is set in Mumbai where Rajini plays the role of a retired cop. The film is set for a Pongal release. The actor had taken a break from shooting to exercise his franchise in Chennai.
