Rahul Gandhi was questioned yesterday for more than 10 hours in connection with an alleged money laundering case relating to the National Herald newspaper. According to sources, he has been summoned again today for further questioning. The Enforcement Directorate had also summoned Congress chief Sonia Gandhi in connection with the same case. The agency filed the money laundering case after a trial court took note of a private complaint against Young Indian Pvt Ltd.
The complaint had levelled allegations of cheating, conspiracy and criminal breach of trust. The Congress has branded these allegations and questioning sessions as part of the ruling BJP’s ”vendetta politics”. The Congress had planned protests across the country outside the offices of the Enforcement Directorate. The Delhi Police however, refused to grant permission for the protest march.
After the police barricaded the ED office, top leaders who accompanied Rahul sat in protest outside the barricade after he went inside the ED office.
