Queen Elizabeth made her first public appearance outside her royal residence since March and was joined by Prince William. They visited the Defence Science and Technology Laboratory near Salisbury to see the display of weaponry and tactics used in counter intelligence before meeting those involved in the Novichok poisoning of 2018.
Heightened security precautions were taken ahead of her visit to protect the Queen against the ongoing coronavirus. All the 48 people who were to come into close contact with the Queen were tested for Covid 19 and social distancing was also followed. The Queen arrived by a helicopter. This is said to be a rare joint engagement for the Queen and the Duke as they normally appear together only at family or major ceremonial occasions.
