Queen Elizabeth II spent a night in hospital and had some tests done. The 95 year old Queen had some preliminary investigations done in King Edwards Hospital in Central London. She stayed there overnight and is said to be back in her Windsor Castle home.
The Queen had pulled out of a planned engagement in Northern Ireland and was advised to rest. Kirsty Duffield, an operations manager, stated that such health checks were very normal considering the age of the Queen and that it was a very positive sign that she was discharged so quickly.
Britain’s Press Association news agency said that the hospital visit and stay was not initially disclosed because it was expected to be short and to protect the privacy of the Queen. They also stated that she stayed in hospital overnight as it was too late for her to travel for 26 miles back to Windsor.
Palace sources said that the Queen was back at her desk and undertaking light duties.
