Queen Elizabeth II delivered a video message to the COP26 conference in Glasgow and appealed to world leaders to work together against climate change to solve the most insurmountable problems.
Her message came after a day of speeches delivered by world leaders warning about the urgency of the crisis.
The Queen stated “If the world pollution situation is not critical at the moment, it is as certain as anything can be, that the situation will become increasingly intolerable within a short time.”
She also added ”None of us underestimates the challenges ahead but history has shown that when nations come together in common cause, there is always room for hope.”
UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres also issued a warning on similar lines. He stated that ”We are digging our own graves” while making a reference to the current exploitation of the planet’s resources.
