Thousands of protestors in Chennai, mainly women are continuing their protests against the CAA for the third day. They are firm in their demand that the Tamilnadu Government should pass a resolution stating that the NPR will not be implemented in the state.
The protesters raised slogans throughout the day. A few non Muslims have been providing the protesters with parottas, rotis, water, refreshments and tea to show their solidarity with them. Meanwhile the leaders of the DMK and it’s alliance partners collected a memorandum with over 2 crore signatures against the Citizenship Amendment Act and sent it to Delhi to be handed over to the President. Through the signature campaign, the President will be aware of the feelings of the people against the CAA and NRC.
