After Indra Kumar revealed his unavailability to work on Hera Pheri 3, the makers of the Hera Pheri franchise have now brought back Priyadarshan on board. Priyadarshan had directed the first film in the Hera Pheri franchise. According to reports, the film will see a time-leap and the actors will play characters closer to their ages.
Hera Pheri 3 will have Akshay Kumar, Suniel Shetty and Paresh Rawal reprising their roles as Raju, Baburao Ganpatrao Apte and Shyam respectively. A source close to the development told a leading daily, “The actors will play characters closer to their age, which has been facilitated in the script with a time-leap.
It takes off from where Phir Hera Pheri ended but fast-forwards into the present. The trio is desperate again but in a completely different scenario. With this film, the Hera Pheri trio will reunite with Priyadarshan, who directed the first film, after 19 years. Earlier, it was reported that the film was planned with Abhishek Bachchan stepping into Akshay’s shoes but the project was shelved. In mid-2018, it was announced that Akshay would be back in the franchise, but the team was reportedly not satisfied with the script.
