Prince Charles lost his sense of taste and smell due to the virus

Prince Charles who got infected with the virus in March had lost his sense of taste and smell. The 71 year old Prince was the first member of the British Royal family to be infected with the virus. He was immediately put under self isolation and has recovered. He is now fit and healthy and has resumed his royal duties.

The symptoms of the virus include a persistent cough, fever and a loss of taste and smell. Loss of smell is technically called ‘ anosmia’ and loss of taste is called ‘ ageusmia’. The World Health Organization has added these two symptoms to their official symptoms list.
