Prime Minister Narendra Modi hosted a dinner for the outgoing President of India Ram Nath Kovind in New Delhi yesterday. Union Cabinet Ministers, Chief Ministers of various states, Padma awardees and many other dignitaries attended the farewell dinner.
President elect Droupadi Murmi was also present at the event. The outgoing President’s term ends on July 25. Many tribal leaders also were in attendance. Vice President of India M. Venkaiah Naidu, Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla and other members of the Prime Minister’s Cabinet graced the occasion. Congress leader Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury also attended the event. Droupadi Murmu will be sworn in on Monday and will take oath at the Central Hall of Parliament.
