Prasanna took to his Twitter page to comment on how the Tamil Nadu Electricity Board has been charging without any relaxation amidst the COVID lockdown. He wrote, “How many of you feel #TNEB is on a looting spree amidst this COVID lockdown?” This tweet of the actor went on to become viral and a lot of people commented that they also felt the same that the TNEB has charged them more during the lockdown.

Later, TNEB condemned Prasanna’s statement and clarified that the actor hasn’t paid the March month bill, and hence, it was carried forward in May month’s bill. Now, Prasanna has also issued a statement saying that his intention was not to degrade or portray TNEB in bad light. He said that all he wanted is that by grabbing the attention, there is a chance for the Government to announce a few days relaxation to pay the bill. The actor also regretted if his tweet hurt the employees and the Tamil Nadu Electricity Board. The actor also said that he has now paid the bill.
