The Police agreed that they will not object to or obstruct the travel plans of Lois Sofia who was arrested for raising slogans against the BJP in the presence of Party State President Tamilisai Soundararajan on a Chennai- Thoothukudi flight.
In a hearing before the State Human Rights Commission, the Inspector and Investigating Officer gave an assurance that the police would not spoil the plans of Sofia to return to Canada where she is pursuing her research. The Commission member asked the police officer to explain the reason why he arrested the research scholar even though she had not committed any serious offence and even though the Captain nor the cabin crew did not file any complaint. The case was adjourned for further hearing to October 26th.
