Prime Minister Narendra Modi will travel to Japan to attend the state funeral of former Japanese premier Shinzo Abe on September 27. Shinzo Abe was shot dead on July 8 while addressing a campaign speech in Japan ahead of the House of Councillors election on July 10.
The Ministry of External Affairs stated that PM Modi will attend the funeral and also meet the present Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida during his visit.
It is stated that PM Modi had a close relationship with Shinzo Abe and that he condoled the death of his dear friend who was the longest serving prime minister of Japan and who dedicated his life to make the world a better place.
