The World Health Organisation has prescribed 150 minutes of weekly physical activity. It stressed the need for physical activity to reduce the incidence of non communicable diseases. It warned that physical inactivity levels are rising in many countries and affecting the general health of the population.
It is the main cause for breast and colon cancer, diabetes and heart diseases. Regular exercise reduces the risk of hypertension, coronary heart disease, stroke, diabetes, breast and colon cancer, depression and it is the fundamental way to balance energy and weight control. All adults between the age 18 to 64 should have at least 150 minutes of exercise per week. It can be aerobic activity or playing games etc.Doctors explain that physical activity is helping young people to tide over symptoms of anxiety and depression as well as perform well at academics.
