Padma Award for KS Chitra and SP Balasubrahmanyam

KS Chithra awarded the Padma Bhushan while late singer-actor SP Balasubrahmanyam honoured with the Padma Vibhushan

SP Balasubrahmanyam has been conferred the Padma Vibhushan posthumously.  During his musical career, he won six national awards and was awarded the Padma Bhushan almost a decade ago. He sang in movies across 16 languages including Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam, Telugu, and Hindi, also acted in various films. KS Chitra has sung more than 25,000 tracks and has won eight National awards toll date. She has been awarded the Padma Bhushan. This year, there are 119 Padma Awardee which includes 7 Padma Vibhushan, 10 Padma Bhushan and 102 Padma Shri Awards.
