The organic terrace gardening sessions at Ashvita Bistro in Alwarpet seems to be one of the most requested and sort after workshops that this bistro organises. To cater to growing public demand, sessions are held at the cafe on the third Saturday of every month.
On the 16th of January, the topic for discussion was methods to manage pests and diseases and nutritional disorders. The session also featured a live demonstration of various hardware used in pest and disease control.
“We have become a green community of sorts. These sessions are attended by regulars and we also see a steady flow of new comers too,” says owner Sruti Hari.
Sruti and her husband Ashvin Rajagopal champion the cause of sustainable energy in their own capacities and the organic terrace garden is definitely the fruit of their labour.
