With summer round the corner, Chef Mayank and his team at Olive Bistro have created some new dishes using fresh ingredients and seasonal produce.
To infuse some variety, the Italian Gorgonzola cheese makes its way into the Red Wine Poached Pear Salad and the Saffron Polenta and Ratatouille Construct. The pear in the salad was so full of flavours that you wanted to savour every crumb in your mouth for as long as you could. The Slow Roasted Carrot & Dill Soup, a Greek Style Farmer’s Salad, and a delicious Cajun Spiced Cottage Cheese Sandwich are a must try for the vegetarians.
For the meat and seafood lovers, the Lamb Tagine – a Moroccan tomato stew served with saffron rice pilaf — really flavourful – along with other dishes like the Seafood Pizza, the Norwegian salmon and the chicken legs are also worth trying out.
Some other new inclusions are the Wild Mushroom Mélange Stuffed Pan Seared Crepes, the Slow Braised Lamb Shank, a 12oz Rosemary flavoured lamb shank, humongous sandwiches like the Confit Beef Open Sandwich, Australian John Dory served with a Smoked Pablano chilli sauce and Pistachio
Crusted New Zealand Lamb Chops.
All these dishes can be washed down with some wines that range from Indian wines, South African Nederberg Wine Masters Reserve, Australian Cabernet Merlot and Chardonnay Semillo, Italian La Corte and Zonin at comfortable prices.
But whatever you eat, leave room in your stomach for dessert as the Saffron and Vanilla Panacotta, served with the favourite gastrique of Pink Peppercorn and Blood Oranges, and the classic Italian Tiramisu for two, with creamy velvety textures of mascarpone, will take you straight to food heaven.
