No pay cut for central government employees

The Finance Ministry has clarified that there is no proposal to cut the existing salary of any category of central government employees. Reports of the pay cut circulating in the media is false and baseless.

The government has frozen the dearness allowance (DA) for about 50 lakh central government employees and dearness relief (DR) to about 61 lakh pensioners till June 30th 2021 due to the Covid 19 crisis. However the employees will continue to receive both dearness allowance and dearness relief at the current rate of 17 percent till the end of June 2021.
