Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman’s daughter Parakala Vangamayi got married to Pratik Doshi in a simple ceremony in Bengaluru on Thursday. The wedding was attended only by close family and friends. No political leaders were invited.
The rituals were carried out in the Vedic order of Adamaru Mutt by priests from Udipi Adamaru Mutt and Brahmin traditions were followed.
Parakala is a feature writer with Mint Lounge. She has a masters degree in journalism from Northwestern Medill School of Journalism The groom is from Gujarat, a key aide of Prime Minister Narendra Modi who works as an officer on Special Duty in the rank of joint secretary at the Prime Minister’s Office.
The bride was clad in a pink saree and the groom was wearing a white shawl and pancha. Nirmala Sitharaman was seen wearing a blue saree with an orange border and orange blouse.
