Nizam’s Institute of Medical Sciences (NIMS) conducts CME on LUNG CANCER KALIEDOSCOPE
On the eve of lung cancer awareness month Nizam’s Institute of Medical Sciences (NIMS) has organised a Continuous Medical Education (CME) on Lung Cancer in the Auditorium, 5th Floor Trauma Block, NIMS Hospital.The programme was inaugurated by Dr. Manohar, Director, NIMS.
Lung cancer is the one of the major killers of males and females globally. Most of the patients come to hospital in the late stages; hence the survival of these patients was only few months. But with the advances in imaging, pathology, surgical, radiation & chemotherapy areas these patients are able to live for few years at present.
With an objective of educating on the latest treatment possibilities for the lung cancer the faculty, residents and all primary care physicians we conducted this CME.
In this CME faculty from Chest, General Medicine, Radiology, Nuclear Medicine, Pathology, Surgical oncology, Radiation Oncology and Medical Oncology the doctors to discussed on the latest advances in lung cancer management.
In annual meeting(October 2015) of Indian Society of Medical Oncology, Mumbai, Dr. Stalin Final year resident of Medical Oncology got best paper award for his paper on Lung cancer. He discussed about his research on lung cancer along with NIMS data.
