The City Police have instructed all hotels and resorts to wind up their New Year celebrations by 1 am. A meeting was held by the police officers with managers of hotels, clubs and resorts to explain the restrictions. Mahesh Kumar Agarwal, the Additional Commissioner of Police said that the meeting and the restrictions imposed was to ensure an incident free New Year.
All organisers were required to get permission, follow all guidelines and install CCTV cameras to cover all areas. Serving of liquor was to be stopped by midnight and at the most extended up to 1 am. Hotel staff were asked not to erect a stage or pandal near swimming pools. They could only be put up after obtaining proper permission.
