By The Blue, Grand Mercure has launched its new menu with an interesting array of new flavours and Chef Gopal Jha’s magic touch to all the new dishes. The foodies of Bengaluru can now rejoice as this new menu offers Indian specialty cuisine and grills making for the perfect dining experience with its great ambiance. The Poolside Restobar is an ideal location that enhances the food and beverage experience.
Begin with the Patiala Shahi Lassi, filled with the goodness of Rabri, yoghurt and dry fruits. Chef Gopal Jha’s promising new menu includes many delicious specialty dishes. For starters try the Hare Moong ke Kebab, hand pounded green lentil soaked overnight, minced in its own water and grilled on the tawa. Vegetarians will love the Yam ki Galouti, a speciality of Baluchistan. It is a galouti made by boiling yam and adding lemon juice, heeng and mustard oil for flavour and served with pineapple chutney cumin powder and black salt. If you’re a vegetarian, don’t miss the Dum Dum Gucchi, Kashmiri morels stuffed with yoghurt and feta cheese and grilled on embers, that melt in the mouth. Another vegetarian specialty is the Malai Broccoli marinated with yoghurt, ginger, garlic and finished with zatar spices served with blueberry yoghurt chutney.
For sea food lovers it’s the Harimiri jhinga king size prawns that will do the trick. These prawns are marinated and mildly spiced with saffron and basil leaves and yoghurt and lemon juice and cooked on tandoor. Try the Dariya-e-husn, a salmon appetizer too, that is simple yet flavourful with minimalistic marination of only ghee, lemon and yoghurt. Chicken lovers must try the Zaituni Murgh Tikka olive marinated chicken.
For the main course, there’s finger licking Sarson ka Saag, Lahori Paneer Ke Parchey, Bhindi Tamatar Singada, Mutton Rarra Gosht and other such dishes that you can mop up with some missi roti, makki di roti, naans or laccha kadak ghee paratha. Their biryanis are also authentic and a must try. End the meal on a sweet note with Khoya Jalebi or Kala Jamun with a twist.
