Neena Gupta’s book ‘Sach Kahun Toh’ was launched recently by Kareena Kapoor Khan
In her autobiography that was recently launched by Kareena Kapoor, Neena Gupta reveals that she had to face many embarrassing and difficult situations at work including the casting couch when she began her career. She narrates an incident when a South Indian film producer asked her to meet him at his hotel room in Mumbai at night. She decided to meet him as the hotel was close to her place of stay. After a long drawn discussion which didn’t yield anything of interest to the actress, she asked him if she could take leave and the producer retorted saying that he thought she would spend the night with him but that there was no compulsion. Neena Gupta froze and literally ran out of the room.
She also goes on to say about how Subhash Ghai asked her to wear a heavily padded blouse for the famous song ‘Choli Ke Peeche Kya Hain?’ She was extremely uncomfortable and though she was hesitant initially, she finally had to agree. She shares her inspiring life experience as a single mother and how she had to make many compromises to kickoff her career. The actress will be seen next in Season 2 of Masaba Masaba and also in the upcoming Bollywood movie, ‘Goodbye’ opposite Amitabh Bachchan. Her book is currently available on amazon.in
