Nayanthara and Vignesh Shivan received their first dose of the Covid-19 vaccine yesterday, May 18. The filmmaker took to Instagram to share pictures of them getting their jab at the hospital. Vignesh Shivan also requested people to get vaccinated against the Covid-19. Sharing the photos, Vignesh Shivan wrote, “Please please get vaccinated. Stay safe, stay indoors #thistooshallpass #idhuvumKadandhuPogum.” #covid_19, #vaccinationdone, #vaccinationeducation, and #vaccine are the hashtags he used for his post.
The couple urged everyone to get vaccinated as early as possible, received heavy trolling over Nayanthara’s photograph that doesn’t show any injection or needle. The photograph makes us believe that a nurse is keeping her hands on Nayanthara’s upper arm. Many have trolled it as a photo-op stunt, not the real picture of getting vaccinated.
Reacting to these trolls, Nayanathara’s team has now sent an official statement saying that she was jabbed with a needle. There indeed was an injection or syringe in the COVID-19 vaccine picture. Nayanthara doesn’t need to fake it, the team clarified.
