LMK and Earl Gateshead’s will perform at The Humming Tree with a headlining act by Earl Gateshead and DJ and One Love Festival promotor, Dan Wiltshire doing what he does best – spinning vinyl. Earl Gateshead began DJing in 1979 when he played Reggae records between punk bands in Brixton. Today Earl tours the world, always playing original, first-press vinyl, which he maintains has the best sound. He spreads the original positive message of love, from Jamaica’s golden era of Reggae music. Earl has a unique voice on the microphone, and his ‘Yeah Yeah” catchphrase has spread right through Reggae music. Earl’s career began in the late 70s, when he built his own Sound System, one of the first built by a European. Fabric, where he became their resident Reggae specialist. Seasoned DJ and One Love Festival promotor, Dan Wiltshire has been spinning vinyl for over two decades. A real DJ’s identity lives within their collection, and Dan Wiltshire is no exception. One of his rare skills is how this sound boy moves his audience. His collection is like a box of rare jewels; first press vinyl and rare dub plates with an open heart for new sounds. He creates the balance between quality rare gem vinyl and new fresh music that he knows his audience needs to hear. LMK is an emblematic artist and one of the few female representatives in France of contemporary urban music. A universe, crossover between Reggae, Hip Hop or Bass music, she is as much at ease in singing, rap or toast and is inspired by singers such as Rihanna, Lauryn Hill or Soom T. A father music teacher and two jazz pianist brothers could only predestinate LMK to music. Her 12 years at the conservatory of Annecy, two years in Lyon and one year in Paris allowed her to perfect her stage presence and musical style.
