Suranjali Foundation organised the 5th season of its annual Pandit Bhimsen Joshi National Festival of Music & Dance 2016 in association with M/s.Tata Capital & Telangana Tourism from at Taramati Baradari, near Golconda Fort, Hyderabad.
Pt Bhimsen Joshi National Festival of Music and Dance 2016 is organised in aid of Children with Autism at Autism Ashram, Shamirpet, Hyderabad and in association with Simplygive Foundation.
The programme began with Yakshagana by Karthik Shukla, an 11 year old boy from Kumpta, Karnataka
Suranjali Foundation presented Suranjaliratna Life Time Achievement Award to Pt. Briju Maharaj. The award was received by family members of Pt. Briju Maharaj. This was followed by a spectacular Kathak Dance Ballet was performed by Shinjini Kulkarni (Grand Daughter of Pt.Birju Maharaj) accompanied by Anubrata Chatterjee on Tabla.
Later Neelakshi Pendharkar & Swaradhish Dr. Bharat Balwalli sung a variety of Classical & Light Classical Compositions of Dinanath Mangeshkar.
