Chief Justice of the Madras High Court Justice Indira Banerjee said that music helped in bringing about peace in a society filled with chaos and uncertainty. She conferred the Sangita Kalanidhi award to Chitraveena maestro N.Ravikiran at the Music Academy.Speaking at the event, she said that irrespective of caste, creed, race, language, or political ideology, music is capable of breaking boundaries.
Accepting the award, Mr. Ravikiran said that music happened and was not made. It was like the flow of a river and that a performer will know how to control the flow of the river so that he can channelise what best he wants of the river.
