After the massive Success of Petta, Superstar Rajnikanth is all set to make his return in Thuppaki Director AR Murgadoss’s Next film. The Whole of K-Town is eagerly waiting for the announcement of Thalaivar 166. The latest update is that Anirudh Ravichander has been signed to compose music. This will be his second successive film with Rajinikanth after Petta. In his latest interview to Anirudh confirmed signing Rajinikanth’s next film with Murugadoss. Talking about his upcoming Tamil projects, As of now, he has Indian 2 and Murugadoss sir’s film (with Rajinikanth). And he has one in Telugu (Jersey, starring Nani). With the project slated to go on the floors very soon, the makers are finalizing rest of the cast and crew.
Recently, popular lensman Santosh Sivan revealed on his Twitter page that he has signed Rajinikanth’s film. Currently dubbed as Thalaivar 166, the film will mark Sivan’s reunion with Rajinikanth after Mani Ratnam’s Thalapathi. To be bankrolled by Lyca Productions, the Superstar is said to have allocated 90 days for the project. The rest of the cast and crew are yet to be revealed.
There are rumors doing the rounds that Keerthy Suresh is being considered as the leading lady for the project. Keerthy had worked with Murugadoss in Sarkar, in which she played Vijay’s pair. The project was originally supposed to be produced by Sun Pictures. However, they opted out of the project after their last outing with Murugadoss, Sarkar, was embroiled in controversy. Therefore, Lyca Productions took over the reins of this film. While Lyca had previously produced Rajinikanth’s 2.0, they forayed into production with Murugadoss’s Kaththi.
