Mövenpick announced the opening of the Mövenpick Moscow Taganskaya hotel, a new flagship for the Mövenpick brand in Russia and CIS countries. Mövenpick Moscow Taganskaya is located on the inner side of the Garden Ring, a central ring road avenue around Moscow, in the old city district with a rich history – the former “Goncharnaya Sloboda” – in close proximity to the subway and just 10 minutes drive from Red Square.
The eight-storey hotel, a leading brand within the Accor Group, perfectly blends with the landscape and architectural appearance of the area. The harmonious combination of the building’s configuration, as well as the selected colour scheme of the facade creates a complete architectural solution and highlights Mövenpick favorably against the neighbouring building.
Mövenpick Moscow Taganskaya offers 154 comfortable guestrooms, including Superior, Deluxe and Executive categories. Spacious Suite rooms, featuring a panoramic view of Moscow, are located on the top two floors of the hotel and are the pride of Mövenpick Moscow Taganskaya. Additionally the hotel offers two rooms equipped to receive guests with special mobility needs.
“I am confident that the opening of Mövenpick Moscow Taganskaya is a landmark event not only for Accor and the Mövenpick brand , but also for the entire Russian hospitality industry. It is the first hotel under an international brand to open in Moscow in 2020, and I’m happy to see it flying the Mövenpick flag, a new brand offering to the capital and one with an impeccable reputation among guests across the world. This new flagship property will be an excellent addition to the historic Tagansky district and I have no doubt it will take its rightful place on the hotel map of Moscow and in the hearts of local residents,” – says Alexis Delaroff, CEO of Accor New East Europe.
Mövenpick Moscow Taganskaya is owned by a successful investor from Kazakhstan, Kairat Itemgenov. The developer of the facility is Linkwood Partners, a private company engaged in investment, development and project management in the real estate sector. “I am pleased to announce that our precious guests can already fully enjoy their stay at the hotel and appreciate the benefits of the Movenpick brand in Moscow, including the latest technology, the highest level of service and hygiene in a very cozy and modern atmosphere”, said General Manager of the hotel Cyril Mas at the launch.
Design: The hotel’s design was developed by Russian architectural bureau Front Architecture in a sharp contemporary style using traditional elements and the author’s installations inspired by the history of the district and Mövenpick brand. Mövenpick Moscow Taganskaya’s lobby conveys the mood of a theater or contemporary art center through a spectacular finishing of the columns, a large accent lamp over the reception desk and panels made of brass netting which contrast well with the graphite ceiling. The lobby’s dominant feature is the bar counter, framed by an impressive metal installation, which was created according to the author’s sketches and is a space where guests can also check-in or check-out. All guestrooms have a minimalistic and functional design and are equipped with a “smart home” system, which allows guests to control curtains, lighting, air conditioning and heating in the room. Panoramic windows offer views of central Moscow, Garden Ring, some of the Seven Sisters, temples, and the Moscow City business district. The design of the restaurant and bar Shagal was created by the team of ArchPoint architectural bureau under the direction of Valery Lizunov.
SHAGAL restaurant and bar: A restaurant of avant-garde cuisine is led by a young talented chef Vitaly Baranov. Shagal’s menu offers both Russian new style cuisine and traditional Swiss dishes, which are Mövenpick’s trademark. Beef steak tartar, Zurich veal, Swiss carrot cake – all these can be tasted in any Mövenpick hotel around the worl, and Moscow won’t be an exception. Additonaly the menu is enriched by chef’s choice with a selection of wine for each dish. For breakfast, guests are offered the most favorite and popular dishes, such as waffles, granola, pastries, pancakes, several varieties of egg dishes and much more. For those who love a healthy breakfast, the menu also has a special section with a range of dishes to maintain maximum energy and a healthy lifestyle. Shagal restaurant has 100 seats, is open for buffet and A La Carte breakfast, business lunch and festive dinners.
THE WAVE SPA: The hotel’s spa complex is a real oasis of calm and an ideal place for recovery. The Wave SPA features a refreshing 14-meter long swimming pool, lounge area for relaxation, sauna, hammam and fitness room with the most modern equipment and design.
ALLSAFE: Mövenpick Moscow Taganskaya will operate according to the ALLSAFE safety label, developed by Accor in cooperation with the global certification leader Bureau Veritas.
