The CPM Thiruvananthapuram district conference had a participation of over 550 members

The Kerala State government came under fire for flouting covid rules at its district level conference that was held in Thiruvananthapuram on January 12th 2022. The conference saw the participation of over 550 members which was much above the prescribed number of 50 as per covid protocol. The state is currently reeling under high Covid numbers. On Thursday, the numbers crossed 13000 with positivity rate reaching 20 percent. The mega thiruvithirakali organised by women in praise of Pinarayi Vijayan and his government also met with disapproval as this was held at a time when one of the youth members of the party were killed and the funeral was being held.

Tomorrow the decision of reviewing Covid protocols and decision with regard to closing of schools will be taken after a meeting among the concerned ministers and departments. Covid clusters have been formed among many colleges across Kerala and the situation is far more alarming than last week.
