The critically acclaimed movie Court will be India’s official entry to Oscar. The film will compete in the Best Foreign Film category at the Academy awards to be held next year. An elated Chaitanya Tamhane, who debuted as a director with ‘Court’, expressed both joy and surprise at the development. ‘Court’ presented a real and critical analysis of Indian legal system and judiciary through the eyes of a folk singer who stood trial after being charged of edition.
