The Union Minister for Women and Child Development Maneka Gandhi has accused the Animal Welfare Board of India for not strictly enforcing rules that specify how wild animals can be depicted in films and television. They are supposed to ensure that animals are not illtreated.
She cited an example where approval was given for a scene that showed animal sacrifice against the order of the Supreme Court. However the Animal Welfare Board Chairman refuted the allegations as baseless and said that it was part of a campaign to defame the Board.
