The Central government’s new guidelines for international travelers coming to India come into effect from today. As per the rules. foreign travelers will have to undergo a mandatory quarantine for a period of 7 days in view of the Covid-19 situation in the country.
All passengers have to submit a self -declaration form on the online Air Suvidha portal and upload a negative Covid-19 RT-PCR report conducted 72 hours prior to undertaking the journey.
On arrival in India, they will have to undergo thermal screening by the health officials at the airport. They will then be quarantined for 7 days and then take a RT-PCR test on the eighth day. Those found to be symptomatic will be isolated and taken to a medical facility. All their contacts will be identified and managed as per the procedure laid down in the protocol.
Those coming from high risk countries will undergo post arrival testing and wait for the results before leaving or taking a connecting flight.
