Ankita Kharat Crowned Manappuram Miss Queen of India, 2016
With the crown on her head, Ankita Kharat from Mumbai stood before the audience as Manappuram Miss Queen of India, 2016, powered by Unique Times an event conducted by Pegasus event makers yesterday in Gokulam Convention Centre, Kaloor, Kochi. 18 beauties from different Indian states participated in this event. Rashmita Gowda from Chikmagalur and Aishwarya Dinesh from Banglore are first and second runner up respectively. Previous year winner Kanika Kapur put the crown on the head of overwhelmed Miss Queen of India 2016 winner.MD & CEO of Manappuram Finance Ltd Mr. V P Nandakumar and Mrs. Sushama Nandakumar crowned the first and second runners up.

The competition which was directed by Mr. Ajit Ravi Pegasus took place in 3 rounds; Designer saree, black cocktail and red gown.
Noyonita Lodh, Niyati Joshi, Dr. Rajeev Pillai, Toshma Biju Deepa resided in the judges panel in this competition. Manappuram Finance Ltd Awarded the cash prize of 1.5 lakh for Miss Queen of India and the first runner up with Rs.60, 000/- Awarded by Wow Factor and second runner up with Rs. 40, 000/- Awarded by Beaumonde The Fern. The crowns worn by the winners are sponsored by Parakkat Jewellers. The regional title winners were awarded with a cash prize of Rs. 10, 000/- each given by Creative Boutique.
The grooming for this competition started on April 22nd in Beaumonde the Fern, Cochin. The girls were groomed by an expert panel of fashion choreographers and trainers –Mr. Sameer Khan of Elite Model Flattt; Ms. Valentina Ravi of Valen’s Model Management, Fitness trainers Mr. Vipin & Mrs Sini Vipin of Fitness 4ever, Personality development trainer Mr. Jithesh & Ms. Preethi Damiyan, Smile Expert Dr. Thomas Nechupadam, Cosmetologist Dr. Asha Biju and Jebitha Ajit, MD, Pegasus.
