Harry May, a 21 year old man who threw an egg at King Charles III during a royal walkabout last year was fined $122 and ordered to pay costs as well after he pleaded guilty to the offence.
This incident took place when King Charles went to Luton on December 6. 2022. to meet community leaders in order to open a new Sikh temple. The egg thrown by Harry May landed near the King as he chatted with locals.
Harry May told police that he threw the egg because he felt that the King was visiting a town like Luton which was a deprived, poor area in bad taste. Chief Magistrate Paul Goldspring accepted that May was not trying to hit the King with the egg but that the attack was ”planned” and ”targeted” King Charles. He therefore imposed a fine of $122 on Harry May.
