Bolaji Fatai from Oworonshoki in Nigeria has built a remote-controlled model aircraft out of trash. He sent this single-propellor plane soaring over Lagos, the commercial capital of Nigeria.
The body, wings, tail and fin of the aircraft are made out of recycled styrofoam gathered from many dump sites. He stuck the parts together with sticky tape. Bolaji purchased the propeller and remote control from a store.
This 21 year old young man said that he started making objects from the age of 7 and that he used to feel excited to see an aeroplane flying, though he has not set foot in one. He got lucky when a tech company gave him an internship after it spotted him piloting the plane. He now plans to become an aeronautical engineer.
Bolaji hopes that his drone technology will be used for the development of his country.
