A teenager from Malaysia posted a question on Instagram asking whether she should live or or die. A majority of the respondents voted for her to die. The unidentified 16 year old from Kuching in Eastern Sarawak state took her life after 69% of votes were cast in favour of her ending her life . Police who classified the case a sudden death are probing into the matter. Lawmaker Ramkripal Singh called for a probe into the circumstances leading to her death.
He wanted to know if the girl would still be alive if a majority of netizens on her Instagram account discouraged her from taking her own life..Earlier this year, Instagram had announced a clampdown on images of self harm after a British teenager went online to read about suicide and took her own life.
