India’s first online custom-shirt brand, Bombay Shirt Company (BSC), opened its second store in Bengaluru recently. The store, located on Lavelle Road, was launched in the presence of Bengaluru’s popular socialites and a theme party was arranged over wine and nibbles. The brand was well received post the launch of its first store at Indira Nagar and now aims to expand its retail shopping experience in the heart of the city’s shopping district. Started in 2012 as an online retailer, the brand opened its first retail store in Mumbai, and now has stores across Delhi, Bengaluru, Pune, Chennai, Kolkata, New York and Dubai.
BSC’s retail stores display more than 3000 fabrics sourced from different parts of the world such as India, Japan, Turkey, and Europe. Akshay Narvekar, founder of Bombay Shirt Company (BSC) said, “We have received an overwhelming response from Bengaluru. We have been looking forward to expand our presence in the city and hence the second store.” Since its inception, BSC has been marrying old-school tailoring techniques with new-age technology to give customers a better-fitting shirt, made using the finest ingredients. Being an omnichannel brand with both, an online shop and brick & mortar stores, BSC caters to customers with diverse shopping preferences. The brand’s on-hand stylists to master-tailors help customers pick the right style and fit for their shirts according to their body types. Every shirt is scrutinized by quality control experts keeping true to the brand’s intent of offering a high-quality, custom-shirt at the price of ready-made alternatives.
