A division bench of the Madras High Court adjourned the hearing of the AIADMK power tussle case to August 25. It is currently hearing appeals from AIADMK joint coordinator K.Palaniswami who is challenging the order of a single judge who nullified the party’s general council meeting held on July 11 and ordered status quo ante as of June 23, 2022.
This meeting picked Palaniswami as the interim general secretary and expelled his rival O Paneerselveam. A division bench comprising Justices M. Duraiswamy and Sundar Mohan posted the matter to August 25. The appeals are seeking to stay the order of the single judge as it had virtually created a deadlock in the party. The concerned advocates said that they are prepared to argue the main case itself on August 25.
