The Chairman of the Muthoot Group passed away in Delhi
M G George Muthoot , chairman of the Muthoot group passed away in Delhi. He was among India’s richest and it was reported that his wealth of the gold-backed lending firm Muthoot Finance, had risen by $1.75 billion in December 2020. Although he joined his family business at an early age, it was after he became Chairman of the group in 1993 that the group expanded its presence across India and overseas. Muthoot Finance Limited, the Group’s flagship company became the largest gold financing company in India and the first-ever NBFC to join the ‘Rs 1000 crore net profit club’ under the leadership of M. G. George Muthoot. He is survived by his wife, Sara George Muthoot and sons, George M George and Alexander George.
