The Tamilnadu government has ordered a lockdown from 6 p.m this evening to 6 a.m on April 1st. Prohibitory orders have been issued under Section 144 CrPC and all district borders will be sealed. However shops selling essential items like milk, vegetables, groceries, pharmacies, banks, ATMs, PDS outlets, public utilities, hospitals, Amma Unavagam outlets, fuel and LPG outlets and food takeaway counters can be kept open.
Tasmac shops, taxis, autos, buses, gathering at tea shops, more than 31 guests at weddings fixed earlier or working at offices will not be allowed. People are required to stay indoors and come out only for getting essential services. Social distancing has to be practiced and a distance of 3 feet has to be maintained.
