How are lawyers spending their time during the lockdown sans the engaging arguments inside courts and animated conversations in the corridors over legal nitty gritty? Aside of minimal video conferencing and the clutch of webinars, Vasanthakumar Vengadessane an advocate of the Madras High Court has been conducting a Legal Quiz everyday since the commencement of the lockdown.
Hosted on a whatsapp group ‘Judicial Renaissance’ that he runs, Vasanthakumar has posed 500 questions to the group members comprising lawyers, jurists and journalists on the court beat.The goal has been to “recapitulate nuances of law and keep alive fruitful legal discussions.” A sizeable chunk of the questions pertained to the Constitution of which Vasanthakumar says he is “passionate” about.
As the 500 questions could be a handy compendium especially for fledgling lawyers, Vasanthakumar has plans to publish it as a book shortly. The legal fraternity has given him full marks for keeping them engaged!
