Seven-time world champion Lewis Hamilton is leaving Mercedes to join Ferrari in 2025. His decision has left the Formula 1 world shocked. Some fans however are elated at Hamilton joining young sensation Charles Leclerc in Ferrari, but many are wondering about the reason for his sudden departure from Mercedes.
Hamilton joined Mercedes way back in 2013 and he expressed concerns about the new car designed by Mercedes. He signed a two-year contract with Mercedes for the 2024 and 2025 seasons but a clause allowed him to leave after one season.
Hamilton said that he had an amazing 11 years with team Mercedes and deciding to leave the team was one of the hardest decisions he had to make.
According to reports, Spanish driver Carlos Sainz, a 29 year old driver from Madrid said that he would be leaving Ferrari before the end of 2024 and therefore Hamilton’s agreement with Ferrari was put together hastily.
