A leopard attacked and killed a 15 year old boy named Adil in Lakhimpur Kheri, UP. He was in his vegetable field near the Sonakalan jungle under the Dudhwa buffer zone when he was attacked. Adil’s uncles and villagers who were working in neighbouring fields rushed to rescue him when they heard his cries for help.He was critically injured on the neck and was rushed to Nghasan health centre. He was later sent to the district hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. This incident took place on Monday morning.
The Deputy Director of Dudhwa buffer zone Anil Kumar Patel, confirmed the attack on the boy by a leopard.
There were pug marks on the spot and it proved that a leopard was on the prowl. The family of the deceased boy would be given compensation according to the rules, said the Deputy Director, Anil Kumar Patel.
