Flanked by his three siblings, King Charles III led a procession of Queen Elizabeth II’s coffin through the hushed streets of Edinburgh. After a regimental band played ”God Save The King”, the Queen’s four children, King Charles, Princess Anne, Prince Edward and Prince Andrew, stepped out behind the hearse flanked by kilted soldiers.
Thousands of people lined the route to watch the procession. Prime Minister of the UK, Liz Truss and Scottish First Minister Nicola Sturgeon joined the royals for a service of prayer and reflection.
The public will be given an opportunity to pay their last respects to the Queen. The funeral will be held at Westminster Abbey on September 19. Around 500 world leaders and heads of State are expected at the funeral.
