Public voting had over 1.7 lakhs votes across 10 different categories from different fields
The YONO SBI 20 Under twenty awards was an initiative by the State Bank of India (SBI) to encourage and celebrate the young talent of India under the age group of 20. After a public online voting campaign that had over 1.7 lakh votes across 10 categories in diverse fields, twenty winners were shortlisted by eminent personalities like actor Dia Mirza; sports journalist and author Boria Majumdar; Sashi Sreedharan, MD, Microsoft India; Dilip Asbe, MD and CEO, NPCI; and Mallika Dua, social media influencer to name a few.
The categories included fields like sustainability, performing arts, acting, entrepreneurship or innovation, sports, global Indian, disability champion and so on. Nihal Raj or Kicha (Chef) as he is fondly called bagged the award from Kochi for being the youngest Chef, who started his culinary journey at the age of 5. He has his own you tube cookery channel , which has over 30,000 subscribers today. Kicha became an international sensation after he was invited to the Ellen DeGeneres Show. Rajnish Kumar, Chairman, SBI awarded the winners at an event in Bengaluru which had Bollywood star, Arjun Kapoor as the Chief Guest.
