Sreejesh, deputy director in the general education department of Kerala is to be promoted as the joint director (sports)
After 41 long years, the Indian hockey team won bronze at the Tokyo Olympics. Goalkeeper Sreejesh who hails from Kerala has become a sensation overnight and fans were thrilled to have him back home after the inspiring win. Actor Mammootty paid a visit to the Olynpian to congratulate him.
The Kerala Government was earlier criticised by world champion Anju Bobby George for not announcing any reward to Sreejesh. But now, V Abdurahiman, the minister for sports in Kerala has announced a reward of 2 crore for the Olympian along with a promotion. Sreejesh is the deputy director in the general education department of Kerala, he is to be promoted as the joint director (sports).
