A demo of the Kavalan SOS App was done by the police in Kundavai Nachiyar government Arts College for women in Thanjavur in order to create awareness about the app. P. Loganathan, the DIG of police of Thanjavur range explained that the app was user friendly and just by one touch, it would give SOS messages, video and even photo images of the incident to the control room.
Police units on seeing this would immediately reach the spot. He requested students to popularise the app by sharing it with at least 10 or 15 friends. Only when people are aware of it, they can benefit from it. The Tamilnadu Police introduced the app as part of the Police Master control room. People could use it in cases of physical emergency, eve teasing, kidnapping and even during natural disasters.
