Actor-turned-politician and Head of Makkal Needi Maiam, Kamal Haasan, visited Namma Cafe’s first mobile outlet at the Chennai Book Fair at YMCA Grounds Nandanam on 5th March 2021.

Dhamyanthi Kumaravel said she sees a huge opportunity for women to take up an entrepreneurial role with the Namma Café franchise. She also added that she strongly believes organizing the local tea shop is a much bigger opportunity because it not just creates a number of franchise partners but also creates a large number of local jobs”.

She said “My Dad had been wanting to enter the food business and he initiated the idea. Since I had done my course in hospitality, I liked the idea and the fact that we can create micro-entrepreneurs through this venture”. Dhamyanthi had completed her Business Administration degree in Hospitality from Les Roches Global Hospitality Education, Switzerland.

Her goal is to open 1000 outlets across Tamil Nadu in the next couple of years and as of now, more than 20 outlets are work in progress. In December 2020, CKK and Dhamyanthi had launched yet another insightful initiative to create jobs called Cycleprenuer. CK Dhamyanthi says “Cycleprenuer will not just help existing tea sellers but also those who want to take up selling tea on cycles as a business model. Namma Café will provide the tea seller with the cycle, tea, coffee and snacks which they can sell in the neighborhood”.

Apart from this, Namma Café has also created a space for Tamil books called Namma Library. Customers will have a range of Tamil books, from Tamil literature to pulp fiction to read at Namma Café. Namma Café offers an eclectic range of signature tea mixes like the Sukku Malli Tea, KarupattI Tea, Turmeric Tea, etc., that will be a fulfilling experience for tea lovers. The best part is not just the fact that you get an amazing range of tea to pick from but also that you get it starting from Rs 10/-. Quick bites like Sandwiches, Maggi, Veg puffs, Osmania biscuits, the classic Bun Butter Jam, etc., are bound to make tea breaks worth the time.
