US President Joe Biden has officially ended the Covid national health emergency after more than 3 years. He signed a law passed earlier by Congress that terminates the national emergency related to the Covid-19 pandemic.

This closes lavish funding streams for Covid tests, free vaccines and many other emergency measures that began in January 2020.
A rule called Title 42 was used during the official health emergency to impose stringent restrictions on acceptance of undocumented arrivals. According to a senior official in the White House, the use of Title 43 is likely to expire on the 11th of May.
An official from the White House disclosed that the Biden administration is now working on a next generation vaccine as well as other measures to combat any future variant of the virus.
