US President Joe Biden and First Lady Jill Biden were accompanied by Vice-President Kamala Harris and Second Gentleman Doug and some secret agents made an unannounced visit for lunch at a popular D.C. restaurant ‘Le Diplomate’. It was on the occasion of Memorial Day and the visit was unscheduled.
The diners in the hotel were elated to see the famous guests. The restaurant is a French eatery and is known to be a favourite of Jill Biden. In fact, her favourite dish was added to the menu special after Biden was elected President earlier this year.
The President’s appearance at the restaurant is the first known sit-down visit to the restaurant as a President and it came not long after the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention lifted Covid-19 restrictions for those who are vaccinated.
Earlier in the week, Biden and Harris with their respective spouses attended a wreath-laying ceremony at Arlington National Cemetery’s Tomb of the Unknown Soldier.
